TRANE remote sensor
I use this unit with the TRANE XL824 programmable thermostat. The placement site of the XL824 was installed in my entryway which faces south with large windows. Needless to say, that wasn’t the proper location for it. However , the fact that the TRANE XL824 has the capability to use a satellite sensor saved the cost of totally rewiring the unit. Only 2 wires were needed from the XL824 to the satellite sensor. Location. It’s really a great feature. The only downside is that when you utilize this setup, a couple of features of the XL824 are unavailable, such as the humidity and the ability of the unit to better ‘adapt’ to the program settings. No biggie, though. The system is working perfectly without it. I would recommend this system.
