Venstar's T1700 programmable thermostat plus ACC0431 Infared remote controller package enables wireless control of the indoor climate via the accompanying handheld remote and receiver combo. The IR remote receiver connects to the RJ-11 port of the T1700 thermostat allowing the handheld remote to control basic functions of the thermostat including adjusting temperature or turning it off entirely. The remote requires line of sight with the thermostat for proper operation.
